As one of our Mathematic initiatives, some Year 5 and 6 students are tutoring our Year 1 students in Mathematics. They are working from the indicators within the Mathematic program and are working hands-on, one-to-one, or one-to-two basis. This takes place four days a week, after recess for approximately 10 minutes. Educational expert Hattie says "that this should improve mathematical understanding for both parties. We are also hoping to build a greater love for Mathematics and confidence within our school and community.
