Ourimbah University Campus Student Visit

University students from the Ourimbah Campus of the University of Newcastle have once again visited our school in order to observe the operation of our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program as part of a course they are completing on ecological sustainability. Twenty students visited on Tuesday 26th June accompanied by Ms Gale Ball, their course facilitator. They were given a guided tour of our produce gardens, our recycling systems, our worm farm, our chicken run and were able to experience what our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program is all about. The uni students harvested the sweet potatoes from the garden and planted up some new seasonal vegetable seedlings. They then headed over to the kitchen to cook up a storm with the students from 5/6A. The menu included healthy food recipes that utilised produce from our very own garden.
