Stage 2 & 3 students were very excited to receive a visit from the "NRL Sydney Roosters Community Carnival". They presented the "League Stars INSPIRE - Respect" program. The purpose of this program is to support and guide those involved in the NRL to deliver to primary school-aged children important messages about attitudes, values and skills. To respect oneself, others and what it means to develop and maintain respectful relationships.
The program encouraged students to critically think about:
- What respect actually means.
- What it "looks like" - the relevant actions and language.
- The kind of behaviours that are appropriate (and in some cases inappropriate) in different situations.
- The benefits for self (respect for oneself) and others when respect is shown and/or received.
The program was well-received and links nicely to the PDHPE curriculum and supports our schools Positive Behaviour Learning (PBL) student well-being program.
