BYOD

BYOD for learning at Woy Woy Public School - COMING SOON!

Woy Woy Public School will be trialling a BYOD program for students in Year 6.

Students can bring in specified devices including Chromebooks, laptops with excellent battery life (Windows 8 or 10 and Apple laptops) and iPads. The Department of Education provides filtered internet access using our school's Wi-Fi and Teachers provide the learning activities.

The aim is to assist students in developing their 21st century skills, perform better academically and provide enhanced communication between their teacher/s.

Smart phones will not be allowed in the BYOD program as they are not seen as educationally beneficial and can be used by students to access unfiltered online material using mobile data and personal hotspots.

The school will not take any responsibility for personal BYOD devices or provide any technical support, other than assistance in connecting to the school's Wi-Fi.

Teachers and staff are allowed to exercise discretion in the use of BYOD devices in the classroom.

Students and parents must sign a Student Agreement and return it to the school.

Additional documents to assist in your understanding will be coming soon.
