During Term 4, your child has taken the opportunity to participate in the Aspiring Leaders program. This program is designed to help students learn about what it takes to be a leader and a role model within our school. Students learn to appreciate the implications of taking on a leadership position, and carefully consider the responsibilities and behaviour standards that such a title entails.
The successful completion of this course allows students to be eligible for coveted leadership positions at Woy Woy Public School, including School Captain, Vice-Captain and School Service Officer. Students are required to present a speech to the school in order to complete the course. These speeches outline to their peers, and the staff, the qualities which each student has that makes them a good leader, and why they should be elected into a leadership position.
As per the Student Leadership Policy, these speeches will take place on Thursday 7th of December (Week 9, Term 4) at 9:15am in the school hall. All parents are invited to attend and support their child in their leadership quest. To complete this course is an outstanding achievement, and all students will be considered role models as they move into Year 6, regardless of the outcome of the election process.
